I’m Finally Out of Credit Card Debt!!!!!!!

Nearly 10 years after getting my first credit card as a freshman in college, I’ve paid off my last balance.
Although I had my Citibank card locked in at 2.99% for life, it is still a great feeling to be done with it!
Last night we went to Buffalo Wild Wings to celebrate. Now, it’s on to the student loans!
In other news, I got a 8% raise today (yea!)

Congratulations!!! I am working on getting my credit cards debt finished as well…but I have a bit longer to go still.
It is posts like these that make me keep going…because it CAN be done….even though it takes a long time.
Congratulations! I know that feeling and am waiting to feel it again for the last time hopefully! Also, thanks for choosing my post to add to the Carnival of Snowflakes!
Congrats a great accomplishment! I am working my debt snowball too… although I have a very long way to go.
Congrats on the raise too! Must have been a great day for you yesterday! Very nice!
Congratulations! You’re blog has helped me take control of my own finances, and I have $2,700 in credit card debt remaining until I’m free of credit card debt.
Congratulations! I love to hear success stories. Your blog is certainly helping to motivate me to work harder on my debt situation. I’ve been in a year’s long struggle with my debt and finances. Stopped using my cc at all about 3 weeks ago.
Congratulations! You’ll never look back
Congratulations!!! I can’t wait to do the same.
Nice! How did you manage to lock in your credit card rate at 2.99% for life? Please share!
Thanks, everyone!
Frank - I locked in that rate back in late 2001 or early 2002 when rates were very low after 9/11. Yes, I’d been paying on this one THAT LONG!
Congrats! It is, quite possibly, one of the best feelings. You will not want to go back down that road!
nice job! i have a way to go myself, but frank, call your card company. if you’ve been paying steadily and you just keep asking, they’ll drop it - i got 1.99% just by repeating how much i’d paid back, how much i like the card company, and how willing i was to go with someone else…
Congrats financegirl!!!! I too just passed a large milestone, completely debt free. I don’t have a mortgage in the first place, so it wasn’t too bad, but man does it feel good to pay off that last ball and chain. I know how it feels and I know how it will feel when you finally leave the world of lenders behind.
My website, I forgot to include it in the previous post.
Way to go!! I just got encouraged reading this post - we are almost there and it has been a few years of sacrifice for us as we have been fighting the same fight - ahhhh, but it is almost here!! Thanks for the encouragement!!
