Debt repayment is important. I am an avid DIYer and have done many projects myself to 'add value' to my home. The problem still is that these take money to do and you do not get any payback until you sell your house, if any at all.

That said, if you are considering finishing your basement you may want to check out my blog/podcast. We have just started a series of posts on finishing your basement.

The first show went online this past Thursday at
http://www.handyguyspodcast.com/94/episode-16-diy-basement

We have already recorded two more basement shows and will likely have 5 shows total on basement finishing.

The Handyguys also cover many other DIY topics on our weekly podcast. Each podcast has an accompanying blog post. The site entry is http://www.handyguyspodcast.com/

Our shows go online every Thursday at 5PM Eastern Time.

If you find our information useful we would appreciate an addition to your blogroll or a blog post about us.

Good luck with your projects and let The Handyguys know if we can help with anything. Its all free of course.
