Oh God, we've lost countless shoes and two remotes. I'm completely not a morning person, but I'm trying to start an excercising routine and have a feeling that walking my dog in the morning will be incorporated!

My dog doesn't get into the Kong, and can eat a bone/rawhide/pig ear within an hour. Know of any long-lasting solutions? Maybe I just need to buy a Costco-sized bag or something.

After my Labrador ate the last pair of my wife's shoes, I had no sympathy. I had no sympathy because after months of him eating her shoes, she never learned to keep them off the floor or in the closet. I lost 2 TV remotes before I learned my lesson. Most important is if you leave your dog, make sure he has something like a big rawhide or Kong w/peanut butter, else he will be looking in the floor, seating, tables, counters and always the trash can for something to destroy. Also, be sure he is getting his proper mental health with a brisk walk before leaving him. That alone solves most behavioral problems.

My Advice to you; Use the lost $20 to motivate you to keep you house "dog proof" and always leave him with some pig ears, cow hoves, rawhides, etc. Don't leave him until AFTER a brisk walk on the lease. When I don't feel like walking or it's raining, etc., I just think about what he is going to destroy while I am gone. That motivates me 95% of the time.

Good luck.

Update:

I just paid Netflix $20 for this movie. I looked on Craigslist and Best Buy, but no one was selling it for under $20. However, Netflix says that if I "find" the DVD within 1 year, I can send it back for a refund...so, I just need to wait for it to go on sale, and recoup some of my money.

Well, I guess I should pay for it, since that would be the ethical thing to do. After all, we're the ones who left it out for the dog to get to. :(

But if you get I Am Legend with bite marks, you'll know it was from me. :)

I'd hope you'd tell them and pay the $20... because I just signed up for Netflix and I don't want to be the next one to receive that disc if they don't notice!
